Referee Class C Training Pattern and Sparring

What is the Referee Class C Training?

This training was created to help students, instructors, and guests to understand the basic rules, commands, and organization of our local ITF tournament. It will help you be part of the tournament run by Sunshine State ITF, LLC as a Referee, Judge, or Operator. This training will give you confidence and the opportunity to practice, before you help in our tournaments.

Our Goal?

We would like to standardize the rules of local tournaments in Florida, encourage responsibility and train more effective referees and judges in our local tournaments.

The Referee Class C Training contains four (4) sections divided in two (2) parts:

Objectives

  • Understand the Basics of Bracketing (Single, Repechage and Round Robin)
  • What is Kihapp?
  • Learn the basics of the Tournament Management Software (Computer Operator)
  • Learn the Tournament Point Scoring System for Sparring (Corner Judge)
  • Improve Judging Skills for Open Tournaments (Skilled Judge)
  • Learn the roles, responsibilities, and signals for sparring (Center Referee)
  • Practice and Exercise
  • Obtain your Class C Certificate of Completion

Dress Code

  • White T-Shirt or White Polo (no design)
  • Black or Blue Jeans
  • Pen and Notepad
  • TKD Shoes

Disclaimer
Sunshine State ITF Referee Class C is a basic training for guests over 13 years of age and any Taekwon-Do practitioners over 13 years of age with a rank of red belt (2nd gup) or higher. The purpose of this training is to build confidence, attain experience and help standardize our local tournaments to maximize efficiency and minimize errors. This training is NOT an Umpire Course or International Umpire Course Certification and should NOT be used as an official training to work or help on any sanctioned International Taekwon-Do Federation Tournament. This training is not provided by any Association or Federation of the International Taekwon-Do Federation. The software Kihapp used in this course is NOT the official Tournament Management Software neither belong to the Sunshine State ITF, LLC. The tournament management software Kihapp is a private software build and developed by an individual named Ville Sundberg. The Kihapp software nor its developers are sponsoring this training course. Please follow the regulations and bylaws of the International Taekwon-Do Federation if you want to be certified as an Umpire.
